Treats of Early Summer

posted Jun 25, 2016, 2:43 PM by Kelly Roopchand
We are officially into haying season, and Anil is busy on the tractor from dawn 'til dusk, making hay while the sun shines. We all love this time of year, and the engagement of our senses: the rumble of the tractor, the heat of the sun, and above all the rich sweet smell of the new hay, as enticing as the aroma of fresh-baked bread. Anil will be baling tomorrow, so bring your noses and your sunhat, and enjoy a walk in the back field after you get your blueberry ice tea or ice coffee at the market. Who knows, you might even get to help load a bale or two, and work off one of Benji's donuts (shhhh). And if our luck holds, there might be two of early summer's other treats: strawberries and snap peas! Now that's worth celebrating!
