Join farmers, foresters, and wildlife professionals for a special FREE presentation on Whole Farm Biodiversity: Co-existing with Carnivore son Saturday, September 29 from 1-4. As farmers, we are very aware of our responsibility to protect our soil, our water, and our livestock. However, like most small farms, our land also provides a perfect habitat for wildlife. Our fields and brushy edges are the perfect nursery for a new generation of bobolinks and bees, and our land nurtures not only kid goats, but Canada goslings and coyote kits. A healthy eco-system needs some predators, and we, as stewards, can fulfill our duty as caretakers of both domestic AND wild species through informed management practices. FMI, directions and how to register for this free program, contact hildy@knox-lincoln.org, 596-2040 or www.knox-lincoln.org/beginning-farmer

Co-sponsored by Knox-Lincoln SWCD, Maine Coast Heritage Trust, and Midcoast Farmers Alliance.
