Educational Opportunities in 2018

April 29: Livestock Guardian Dogs
    with Geri Vistein
Wondering if a livestock guardian dog is right for your farm? Or just want to know more about these beautiful working dogs? Geri Vistein will share her in-depth knowledge of these amazing animals, and how to work with with them to keep your farm safe from predators.

September 29: Nurturing Carnivore Coexistence & Biodiversity on your Farm
A special opportunity to look at the issue from four different angles:
Hilda Ellis, from Knox/Lincoln County Soil and Water Conservation District; Morte Moesswilde, a Forester with the Maine Forest Service; Geri Vistein, a carnivore biologist; and Deb Perkins, a wildlife biologist, will join us for a guided tour of what works and what doesn't.

Once upon a time, we all had a farm in our family...

Now, the experience is rare.
There is so much we are missing...

The mission of our Farm Education Center is to build relationships between people and nature, so that we make wise decisions on our farms - and in our lives.

How can we value what we do not know?

We seek to build compassion and wisdom through direct experience of farm life.

We support sustainable farm development through programs that recognize the economic, educational and environmental needs of a successful farm.
